Grandma's Famous
Rhubarb Betty
My grandmother's recipe.
Our family members can't get enough of this at get togethers.
DRY MIX (COMBINE ALL):
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup Oatmeal
3/4 Cup Crisco
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
TOPPING (COOK UNTIL CLEAR & THICK,
STIR CONSTANTLY):
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
2 Tablespoon Corn Starch
8" X 8" BAKING DISH:
1-Layer of Dry Mixture
2-Layer of Rubarb (4 Cups???)
3-Layer of Dry Mixture
4-Topping
5-Bake for 45 Minutes at 350 degrees
When I do the dry mix I put the Crisco
in the microwave to melt it
before I put it into the mix, it makes it easier to combine.
