Candle "Curing" Fact or Myth?

Candle "Curing" Fact or Myth?

The answer is Fact! Candle curing is the time needed for a fragrance to bind with the wax which in turn creates a stronger scent throw/aroma. As a candlemaker, over the years we have discovered that not every fragrance oil performs in the same way. One apple pie fragrance from one fragrance manufacturer can smell exactly the same as one from another but due to the chemical qualities can perform completely different. Curing is more important, in my opinion, to a candlemaker versus a candle buyer/customer. The store or Internet site a candle enthusiasts purchases his or her candle from should have met the specific cure time from the candlemaker before hitting the shelves or reaching your home. We cure our candles for 24 hours, test, and if the fragrance in our soy wax doesn't perform well at that time we do not add the fragrance to our line. Every candlemaker is different and you should be able to ask your favorite candle company his or her opinion on the subject. All in all, why wait...burn or melt as soon as your candle is purchased or arrives at your door!
